Notoriously private pop icon Prince stunned late night talk show host George Lopez on Thursday when he phoned in and offered himself up as a guest. The singer is preparing to perform a run of 21 nights in Los Angeles next week and he reached out to comedian Lopez to ask if he and his group, The New Power Generation, could stop by the set on Wednesday to rehearse.
Lopez was delighted with the idea, but the Purple Rain hitmaker, who dubbed himself the "Puerto Rican brother from another mother", had one word of warning for the presenter - go easy on decorating the studio in his signature colour.
Prince said, "Whatever you do don't overdue the purple. Let us bring the purple. Everybody's always doing those purple lights and what not, you know what I mean?"
